Jon Wrigley
The son and grandson of successful professional photographers, it was hardly surprising that Jon learned to handle a camera at an early age.
After completing his training and working briefly as an assistant, he left the UK to embark on a number of freelance assignments in France, Italy, Austria and Malta. He soon began to specialise in large scale tourist orientated shows, taking responsibility for photography, rostrum work and programming on such productions as The Venice Experience, The Florence Experience and The Brazil Experience.
Jon’s long relationship with the Maltese islands was cemented in 1987 when he was invited to re-develop the much-loved tourist attraction, The Malta Experience.
Over subsequent years, this hugely successful show, capturing 7000 years of vivid island history, has been regularly re-designed and upgraded, to take advantage of the latest technology, with Jon remaining in charge of direction, photography, videography and programming.
The islands’ fourth most popular attraction, it has been viewed by over four million visitors and is available in 15 languages.
Jon’s specialist skills in this medium have led to a number of exciting commissions, including tailormade productions for the Malta Pavilion at the 2010 World Expo Shanghai.
Alongside his work in the tourism sector, Jon has continued to work as an advertising photographer working with leading businesses and organizations in Malta and overseas.
